OPTICOLOUR 200 by Optik Oldschool (Wolfen NC200 in 120)
I recently got a package from the lovely people at Optik Oldschool. Inside were three pre‑production rolls of their brand-new colour film stock called OptiColour 200.
This is a completely new 120 format colour negative film with an ISO of 200, based on the Wolfen NC200 emulsion. It's created and coated by InovisCoat in Germany and only available through Optik Oldschool as OptiColour 200.
My First Roll
For the first roll, I took it with me on a coastal walk from Ramsgate to Margate in Kent. I shot it using my Fuji GS645W medium format camera. I'm really pleased with how the photos turned out. The colours look really nice and neutral.

There were a few quirks with these early rolls, including some light leaks, visible halation, and the occasional artefact. These are known issues with the pre-production batch and are expected to be resolved in the final prodcution.
What's Next?
I still have two more rolls left from this pre-production batch and I’m excited to experiment further.
Final production is set to drop this August. Retail price from Optik Oldschool will be 9,90€ per roll, which puts it in the sweet spot for a premium colour film in today’s market.
Final Thoughts
Trying out a film before it hits the market is always exciting, but it’s even more rewarding when the results feel this promising. OptiColour 200 is shaping up to be a strong contender in the colour film world—especially for medium format shooters looking for a new everyday stock with a classic, neutral andclean look.
I’ll post more shots soon as I go through the remaining rolls. In the meantime—what do you think about this new film? Would you shoot it?
